You should meet most of your goals; however, as the previous paragraph stated, you won’t meet all of your goals on time. This is a normal part of life.

It is important that you take some risks. You don’t want to just rest on your laurels the rest of your life. If you’ve never heard this expression, it means that you shouldn’t rely on past performance and play it safe. You are not going to advance in your career if you don’t take some type of risk. That doesn’t mean take some huge risks that could put your career in jeopardy. This just means that you need to put yourself out there more, and take a chance on something that may or may not work out. If it works out, then that’s great! Make sure you expand your network. Try to interact with new people on a regular basis. Obviously, this will be much more difficult for introverts than extroverts, so if you fall in the former category, you will have to work harder in order to do this. Aim to talk with other co-workers and people that are higher up, and become good acquaintances with all of them. The larger your network, the more opportunities you will be presented with in the future.

Finally, always showcase the value that you bring to the table. If you are a good communicator, then show others how effectively you can bring in clients to a company. Perhaps you are more of an analytical person than a communicator? Show how your abilities can help save a company money and resources.
